Pork Butt, despite its colorful name, does not come from anywhere near the behind of the pig. In fact, quite the opposite. Pork Butt is a cut of meat from the shoulder of the pig. Pork Butt is the cut most typically used in pulled pork. It can be roasted or cut into steaks, but it is also well-suited for braising and stewing. Incredibly versatile, Pork Butt is one of those cuts of meat that is on the more affordable side to buy, but when you cook it properly, it softens up and then tastes like a more expensive cut of meat. Cook it low and slow to have pulled pork so tender and succulent it can easily be shredded with a fork. Taste the difference our pasture-raised pigs make, and you’ll never go back to store-bought.
